"“Pleasantly Surprised” When discovering at the last minute my brother was racing in the Mopar Southern Classic in Clay City, Ky; I began trying on a Friday evening to get a reservation for Saturday night. After reading a couple of reviews about Oak Tree, I naturally tried every other place I could find in that area but everything was booked. Reluctantly, I called the Motel and found a room for the night and the rate was really reasonable. My thinking was: anything that 'cheap' must be a real dump, but we had no other option, and after all, 'Its only one night'
WAS I SURPRISED. The staff was cheerful and friendly. The room was immaculate and well furnished. The bed was comfortable, there was a built in compact refridgerator/ freezer (with individual compartment doors), full sized microwave oven, coffee pot with a variety of servings to choose from, a recliner (that actually reclined!), the TV had 99 channel cable including HBO. Although the actual bathroom was very small, it was spotless and the housekeeping staff even left little towel models of some kind of critter (I think a rabbit) but I thought that was a very personal touch and certainly not expected in this small Inn located in a such a small town. Loved this place. Will go back, and hope all my friends will do the same."

"“Great Improvements” I stay at the Oak Tree whenever I'm in the Irvine area which is between 2 - 5 times a year. When I was there in both July '10 and then again in October '10, it was obvious they were redecorating the motel. The motel is modest, but has both a microwave and small fridge in all rooms. There are also coffeemakers in the rooms and the hotel has an exercise room. Also, bring your computer as they have free WiFi. My rooms during my last two stays were clean and comfortable. If you're looking for a 5-star experience, you'll have to look in a larger city; however, if you're looking for a nice, clean place to sleep in the area, look no further."

"“It was suitable”
I needed a place to stay on the spur of the moment and this was the only place I could find. The people were really nice and the place is clean, nothing fancy, and no elevator. But it served the purpose. The little town it is in does not have much to offer but it is a nice ride to the Natural Bridge from there (takes about 1/2 hour to get there). Would not be my first choice but if I had to stay there again I wouldn't mind. There is a McDonalds right there to grad a bite, not much else besides a couple of gas stations...where the ATM's were all out of order. There is a BBT Bank with an ATM, that was a blessing!
